Lately I've been in some unfortunate situations; i.e., ID theft, my all saving was stolen, passport was forged by criminals, laptop was dead and now have another unlucky problem.
I had a serious toothache on Wednesday evening. My molar tooth was chipped around 1x1.5mm and it was chipped to gum line. I was seriously in pain due to the expose nerve. I guess if I had a gun, I may blow my head off. I called Oscar for his opinion about how to find a dentist to deal with such an urgent case. I also look into NHS website to see what valid information would be helpful. In the next day morning, Ariel gave me a morning call so I could make calls to hospitals and private service for such an emergency. After making 20s phone calls. Eventually there was only one dental service in Whitington will provide emergent slot. Most of dental services do not take urgent case and do not accept new patients as well. Some did accept me but only will give me treatment till the end of June. (I'd definitely go insane.) I was so desperate to find a dentist.
At the end, I was lucky to be accepted and immediately, I started searching bus information and map to find where I can take buses and what buses would take me to the dentist. The bus drivers were nice and informed me where I can get off and where I can transfer to another bus service. The journey to the dentist was smooth. The pain was released now. Now I only suffer from a sensitive molar tooth.
However, no matter how unlucky I was, I am lucky enough to have good friends around and offered me their help. Thanks to Ariel, Aruna, Gunce, Oscar, Wendy, Godspeed and Niky for their offering in help. My family members also try their best to support me in such a crisis. Also, my supervisor has been very very helpful to request university to refund my money in conference and to pay my work. Although these situations were threatening, I manage to get over it and try my best to move on. (Being honest, these situations won't enormously cause mental trauma but affect my life seriously; i.e. no money no life.) Now I can't trust any service at all and question a lot how effective the organistional policies could apply to customers.
It's quite difficult to imagine/understand how these UK systems operate and people can live on it. I often doubt this country which emphasizes on Human Right, but to whom exactly the Human Right is applied to medial service. The longer I stay here, the more I am thinking about moving back Taiwan. Although I don't think everything in Taiwan would be better, it may be me knowing better about how to deal with problems in Taiwan.
